Washakie County Public Health is a state/county agency with the mission "to protect and enhance the health and well-being of all citizens."   We do this by offering nursing services in  clinic settings, to individuals, families or groups.  Services are available to all citizens of Washakie County regardless of race, national origin, age, religion, color, sex, disability, or ability to pay. 

      Primary Goals Of Public Health Are To:

*Promote healthy behaviors

*Prevent the spread of disease

*Inform and educate people about health issues

*Help people find the services they need
*Work with others in the community to identify and solve health concerns


  Public Health Services Include:

       Immunizations for Children & Adults
      Provide required and recommended vaccines
        Communicable Disease Screening
         Participate in outbreak investigation and control
        Adult Health
          Provide counseling for disease prevention/health education, health assessments, medication instruction, and referrals.
       LT101 Screening
         Assessments for nursing home placement and for the Home and Community Based Waiver program, a limited alternative to nursing home care.
       Safe Kids Car Seat Program
       Car seats are available for purchase at reduced cost for qualifying families.
       Maternal Child Health
          Guidance during pregnancy and prenatal education for parents. Welcome home visits for new parents and their babies. Presumptive medicaid eligibility for pregnant women.
         Children’s Special Health Services
         Family support and financial assistance for children with special healthcare needs.
         Family Planning
         Provides access to high quality, comprehensive, voluntary family planning, and other reproductive health care services for women and men.
Fees are assessed for some services and can be paid for by:
        Medicare/Medicaid
        Private Insurance
                                                               Individual or Family-Based on Income
